The Coota Blues recorded its 13th consecutive win in the AFL Canberra Regional grade at Yass on Saturday defeating second-placed side the Southern Cats by 48 points.

Despite putting the cue in the rack for the last quarter, the Blues booted 13-12-90 to 6-6-42.
The Blues led by 66 points at the last change but were outplayed in the final quarter where the Cats booted 4-2 to 1-2.
In a match where they again confirmed their superiority in the competition, the Blues are encountering a number of injuries. Scott Mazzocchi tore a hamstring in the second quarter, while Nick Holt received a knock to the head and took no further part in the match.
Couple this with Sandy Maskell Knight and Tom Brody not playing due to injury and Jack Caldwell was unavailable, the Blues had to dig deep to record an excellent win.
Again, Blues' skipper Phil Bird dominated around the ground, with his strong marking.
Eighteen-year-old Aaron Basham played his best match of the season. His strong running and long racking left foot kicks was a feature of his play.
Down back, Will Ormond gave the Blues plenty of drive. Will's one per- centers makes him an important member of the Blues line-up come finals.

Next Saturday the Blues play Goulburn at the neutral venue of Yass.
In the other matches, Murrumbateman defeated Yass in the local derby at Yass by 29. Belconnen showed they will be a force in the finals by thumping Goulburn by 94.
BLUES WOMEN
The Blues put in a solid performance against a strong Queanbeyan side but were beaten by 37 points - 5-16-46 to 1-3-9.
For the first time since round two, the Blues were able to field a near full side.
The girls started in the fog at Joe O'Connor in Yass. Queanbeyan, who last week defeated the competition leaders, was certainly inaccurate in front of goal. However, the Blues' girls' pressure resulted in many of the Tigers' behinds.

Nest Saturday the girls play Riverina Lions.
The Yass Roos hosted four matches (there has never been more than one match) at Joe O'Connor Park, two women's matches and two men's matches with their day raising much-needed funds for the local Can Assist branch.
The first match started in the fog, and then the day turned out to be a brilliant day for Australian Football.
