Cootamundra Swimming Lifesaving Club is having success in the pool during winter after a very successful Summer Season with 96 registered swimmers and being one of the clubs in the state having an increase of over 50 per cent participation from the year before.

A number of swimmers from the Swimming Club have continued on swimming during the winter months.
This Winter, Cootamundra Swim Club has so far participated in the Southern Inland Short Course Meet in Griffith on June 23, took a number of swimmers over to the Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra to swim in a Development Meet on July 28, 2019 where all swimmers who took part in this meet achieved personal best times in one or more strokes.
Lucy Smirl, 11 years old from Cootamundra achieved the qualifying time to swim in her first Country Regional Short Course Meet for 50m Breaststroke at the Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre, Homebush on July 6, 2019.
This was Lucy first time qualifying for Country Regionals and did herself and the club proud by swimming her personal best time of 44.24 seconds.

Cootamundra Club has welcomed Tom Robinson, from the Grenfell Amateur Swimming Club to train under the guidance of coach Adam Gammon preparing for the Australian all schools swimming championships in Victoria.
Cootamundra Indoor Pool is the nearest indoor facility for Tom to train.
Tom's intention is to link up with Cootamundra Swim Club as a second tier club.
Tom swam in the Australian All Schools swimming championships representing NSW on the weekend from the 27th July through to Monday 29th July, 2019.
Tom came seventh in 50m Freestyle with a time of 24.43 seconds, fourth in 50m Butterfly with a time of 26 seconds, Silver Medal in boys 17-19 years 200 metres Medley Relay, Silver Medal in Boys 17-19 years Freestyle relay, and Bronze Medal in the mixed 17-19 years 200m Medley relay.
Tom has now met the National qualifying time for 50m Freestyle and the qualifying time for NSW State Age for 50m Butterfly.
Mark Lake said, "It is great to see the number of young swimmers back in the pool and enjoying themselves and achieving great results."

Club has resumed squad training and it is great to see so many young children returning to swimming for another year and using the indoor pool.
