But instead of just going to the hairdresser and getting it cut short, she heard about the Variety program which makes wigs for children who lose their hair from cancer treatments.
"I thought why not put it towards a useful purpose," Andie said - and so, on Friday August 30, she'll be having it cut at Split Enz.
Her hair won't be entirely removed, as happens with some people who go in the Big Shave - but around 35cm will go, from a bit above shoulder level.
What's more, she's already raised $200 from friends and family for Cootamundra's CanAssist, to help families who have to pay medical bills if they have a family member with cancer.
If you'd like to help Andie help others, donation tins can be found at Split Endz, Hunt & McTavish Accountants and CW Jewellers, or you can donate to the Fundraiser account at the ANZ Bank: BSB 012585 316842693.
