I grew up in Oura just outside of Wagga. My parents' company Campbells of Oura was the main sponsor of the Riverina Theatre Company and every other theatre in Wagga for many years, so I got to see a lot of theatre for a country kid.
I went on to study acting at CSU and radio at AFTRS and have since worked in most aspects of theatre including Box Office Manager at the Sydney Opera House, working in front of house for Cameron Macintosh and Harry M Miller.
After moving from Sydney to Canberra I gained my Bachelor of Education and worked at Jigsaw Theatre Company, the Canberra Multicultural Festival, Floriade and Nightfest as well as a range of other festivals from car rallies to hot air balloon events.
I also created several cabaret shows seen from Adelaide to New York.
As our kids grew we moved back to Wagga and I started working as the manager of the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre five years ago.
It has been a challenging and fun few years and I have learned a lot about the demands of running an arts venue in a regional area. I hope to bring this learning to The Arts Centre Cootamundra.
This is an exciting time for TACC as we begin presenting new release films and plan a dynamic and fun 2020 program of events with something for every member of the community.
We are looking for volunteers to be a part of the new fresh program and if you can spare even a few hours each month to usher or work behind the bar we would love to hear from you.
