The Queanbeyan Tigers have defeated Riverina Lions in the semi finals of the 2019 UNSW Canberra Regional competition.

In the match played at Clarke Oval in Cootamundra the Tigers defeated Riverina 33-20 in a low scoring match.
The Lions and the Tigers have been the best two teams by far this season.
Prior to last weekend's semi final Queanbeyan were the only team to have beaten Riverina, and vice versa.
With a Grand Final berth on the line the Tigers outscored the Lions 5-3-33 to 3-2-20.
The Lions now need to defeat Eastlake Demons in next weekend's Preliminary semi final to book a rematch with the Tigers.
After kicking the only two goals in the first quarter of last weekend's match the Lions were kept goal less in the second quarter while in contract the Tigers kicked four majors to take the half time score to 5.2-32 to 2.0-12.
In the second half both sides struggled to trouble the scorers in difficult conditions with the Tigers adding just the one behind to their half time score.
The Lions kicked one more major and added two behinds but couldn't bridge the gap.
Best for the Lions were M. Hurley, S. Close, Shaylee Dal Santo, Kelsey Pye, Jenna Williams and Kristen Turner.
The Tigers were best served by Kate Crompton, Kayl Dacey, Taylor Maurer, Georgina Bennett, Brooke Brustolin and Alexandra Lucas.
Scorers for the Tigers were Kyra Jackson 2 and Chloe Borella - Wade.
The Lions points came from the boots of Shaylee Dal Santo 3, Lani Watson and Stacey Close.
