Jim Deacon took to the green against John Goggin in the remaining semi-final of the major club singles championship. John shot to handy lead and was never headed going on to win comfortably and now plays Don (The Duck) O'Neill in the final.

Minor Singles
Neil Blackett and Mark Devere had a ding dong battle in their minor singles game, with shots hard to come by. The score was equal on four occasions, and at the completion of 26 ends the score was 22-21 in Mark's advantage. From this point Mark slowly got the upper hand and defeated Neil 31-26. Great game fellas.
Mixed Pairs
Bev Black and Greg (Grumpy) Fisher combined to defeat a very determined Kelly Gang - namely Ned and Monica Kelly - 17-12, while Rhonda Nolan and Jason Jones were far too good for the husband and wife team of Bill and Margaret Cosgrove. Marilyn Allen and Henry Wilson lined up against Joan Cummins (sub) and John Goggin in a mixed pairs game where at the half-way mark the score was 8-7 in Joan and John's favour. They set about building a lead and went on to win 22-11. Freda Hambrook and Geoff (Bloopy) Manwaring were trailing Carolyn Buchanan and Pat O'Brien 8-14 with five ends remaining, but went on to win all five ends to record a 25-14 win.
Lynn Fisher and Steve Stanton got off to a great start in their mixed pairs game against reigning champions from 2018, Lorraine Evelyn and Terry Smith. Lynn and Steve held their advantage throughout the game and went on to win 23-10 and move to the next round.
Social bowls
August 14 saw three pairs game, with Greg (Nippy) Field and Jim Deacon defeating Ned Kelly and Pat O'Brien 20-12. Rocky Ford and Geoff Hillier had too many guns for Don (The Duck) O'Neil and Paul Cockram winning 23-12. Keith Hampton and Rod (Pickles) Bradley had a close contest against Dennis (Ginger) O'Brien and Craig Jordan but managed to win 20-16.
August 16 saw two triples and a pairs game, with Don (The Duck) O'Neil, Keith Hampton and Rod (Pickles) Bradley defeating Oscar Lopez, John Huntington and Peter Hoang in a very close game 24-18, while Jeff Withers, Ned Kelly and Jim Deacon recorded a comfortable 20-12 win against Ginger O'Brien, Rocky Ford and Geoff Hillier. Craig Jordan and Jim White had a great win over Paul Cockram and Pat O'Brien.
