Jason Jones and Henry Wilson played their second-round game of Minor Singles on Saturday. Henry held his own until Jason found his range, winning 31-16.
Jason maintained his form playing Rodney (Ferret) Ball on Wednesday where he jumped to a big lead, was never headed and defeated Rodney.
He lined up again on Friday to play the in-form Steve Stanton in the first of the semi-finals, and despite Steve mounting a challenge, Jason kept him at bay to record a great 31-27 win. Great game fellas.
Club Triples
Ten teams entered the Club Triples with semi-finals on Sunday morning and, in the Sunday afternoon final Nigel Buttriss, Pat O'Brien and Mick Willis faced Roger Goode, Graeme Dennis and Geoff Hillier.
The final was a very tight game with the score equal on four occasions.
The score was 15-all after 16 ends, and although team Hillier recorded a shot on the two ends, they conceded five shots on the final three ends, handing the 2019 Club Triples title to Nigel, Pat and Mick who were also in the Club Fours winning team. Great job fellas.
Cootamundra Ex-Services' bowlers took to the greens to play a number of games of social bowls.
On Wednesday, September 23, Oscar Lopez, John Huntington and Ron Johnson defeated Frog Roberts, Henry Wilson and Rocky Ford 20-19 in a very close game.
Keith Hampton and Jason Jones combined to defeat Graeme Snape and Rob Hillier 23-14.
Mick Andrews, Don (Duck) O'Neill and Geoff Hillier proved too strong for Ashley Cooper, Paul Cockram and Jim White, while Ginger O'Brien and Craig Jordan defeated Ned Kelly and Rod (Pickles) Bradley 16-10.
FRIDAY RESULTS
On Friday, September 25 Paul Cockram, Geoff Manwaring and Brad Lang were no match for Graeme Dennis, John Huntington and Don (Duck) O'Neill going down 14-21, while Oscar Lopez, Rocky Ford and Craig Jordan defeated Ned Kelly, Ginger O'Brien and Keith Hampton 21-14.
The remaining game was won by Peter Hoang and Neil Blackett who recorded an easy win over Jim White and Graeme Snape.
Cootamundra Country Club Men
In the one Singles Championship game it was a victory for John O'Loughlin over Scott Wilkinson after a good battle and a final score of 31-24.
Tuesday C. Wilis, K. Medcalf and B. Lange won their game against D. Guthrie, R. Cleveland, and R. Rosengreen, earning 16 points. In the pairs G. Bottrall and D. Harris defeated G. Hagan and G. Worboys, scoring 19.5 points.
A.Ward and K. Ryan were unable to make up the four shots lost on the second-last end and lost by one shot to G. Hagan and K. Medcalf (21- 20).
Saturday, in the first of two close Pairs games A.Ward and W. Manwaring gained a winning advantage with a five-shot end against E. Thorburn and R. Cleveland, obtaining an eight-shot margin to win the chooks. The other game was a five-shot margin win for G. Hagan and R.Johnson over K. Medcalf and G. Worboys. Jackpot still intact.
Women's Bowls at the Country Club
Social bowls was played in very warm weather. We had a game of triples with a swinging lead, and one of pairs.
In the triples, Betty Cleveland, Ellenor Armstrong and Jan Slavin (swinging lead), were too strong for Diana Buchanan, Lesley Manwaring and Jan Slavin.
The pairs match was very close with Viv Christie and Neta Manwaring defeating Jan Roberts and Marsha Phillips by a single point.
There will be no social bowls Thursday as it the second day of the Wattle Time Mixed Pairs Tournament.
