The Cootamundra Show is a fun family day out and the "Have a Yarn "marquee has been positioned near the Kids Zone and Truck Stage.
Gwen Norman, Assistant Secretary Cootamundra Show, said "Our show goers can enjoy live music great food and beverages while relaxing in the 'Have a Yarn' marquee".
Local agricultural shows are meeting places and many exhibitors and show goers look forward to catching up with mates and family in a relaxed environment.
In times of adversity, like drought, our community needs to come together and support each other. Having a break from the serious day to day decisions to have a yarn with mates can provide a well appreciated change", she said.
MPHN CEO Melissa Neal said she was pleased to be supporting the Cootamundra Show "Have a Yarn" marquee with the provision of a Murrumbidgee Community Grant.
"We know the impacts of drought extend beyond farmers and their families in rural communities and small rural communities are always very resourceful and innovative when it comes to supporting each other, " Ms Neale said.
I congratulate the Cootamundra APH&I Association for this initiative and I look forward to hearing about its success," Ms Neal said.
The Murrumbidgee Community Grants have been made possible with funding from the Australian Government's "Empowering Communities" initiative allowing local communities to tailor mental health responses to their own needs. For more information about grants visit www.mphn.org.au.
