Last weekend around 140 guests gathered at the home of Charlie and Rebecca Bragg, 'Landgrove', to celebrate the 50th birthdays of Charlie Bragg, Richard Byrne and Tim Last.

These three men began school together here in Cootamundra, marked their 21st birthdays with an always to be remembered party celebration and now returned to celebrate their 50th birthdays.
The lunchtime party was held under a marquee top in picture perfect spring weather with many of the guests having travelled from interstate and overseas to make the weekend complete for Charlie, Richard and Tim.
BEGA VISITOR
Delighted to meet up with former Cootamundra resident Ben Pepper when he returned during the school holidays to catch up with his many local friends here in town.
Ben will be remembered as a school teacher at the Cootamundra High School.
And who can forget his talent when it came to lighting and 'action' at the many CADAS Kids' productions held on stage in the town hall.
AND also the Chris Edwards School of Dance had Ben at the helm of its lighting and action at all of the concerts it held.
He reports loving life on the far South Coast, teaches in Bega and he and the family live near the lovely, tranquil beachside town of Tathra.
He told us stories of how close the devastating Tathra bush fires came to their property in March of last year.
OUTDOOR CONCERT
Today (Friday) an outdoor concert, hosted by the Cootamundra Library and featuring the Gundagai folk and soul duo Liquid Sun, will be held in the beautifully refurbished park beside the library, just beside the fish pond.
So bring a friend, bring a blanket/fold-up chair and your lunch to enjoy the sweet sounds of Liquid Sun live in concert from 12.30 to 1.30pm. Any monies raised from this concert will go to local charities.
GUESS WHO'S COMING?
The EA Southee Public School 50-year Reunion is shaping up to be a gathering of interesting former teachers and students. To take place on Saturday, November 2 with a dinner to be held at the Cootamundra Ex-Servicemen's Club. Names popping up are Greg and Wendy Conkey, Merrillyn Deep, Sarah Mangelsdorf and former teachers Bruce and Helen Hill, Neville Hopper and Sheree Gleeson.
A family member or two of the late EA Southee will be in attendance at the dinner and also present at the special school assembly to take place on Friday, November 1.
A SPECIAL LUNCH
The Cootamundra Breast Cancer Survival Group will gather at E'Claires Coffee Shop on Monday, October 28, for a long lunch and 'get together'. Taking place at noon, any lady who has been affected by breast cancer is most welcome to come along and enjoy the company of those who will gather there for a delicious lunch and coffee.
Come one, come all, to an event-filled outing.
IT'S SHOWTIME
Well, our annual Cootamundra Show takes place this Friday and Saturday. Come one, come all, to an event- filled outing.
The Arts Centre volunteers will be cooking up a storm of local products for your tastebuds, as they man the barbecue and bar at the show.
Under the Arts Centre Creative Enterprise banner, LOCAL UNLIMITED, the Cootamundra Creative Arts and Cultural Centre volunteers have partnered with Coota KELSO Lamb, Coota Butchery and the Outback Bakery to deliver some unusual mouth-watering burgers and lamb kofta treats, served on a brioche bun made by the local Outback Bakery and accompanied by different relishes and salads.
This bar will be open from noon - a delicious treat is in store for all.
