Blues bowlers on fire

In the Dunk Insurance Cup, both Cootamundra sides recorded victories, with Stockinbingal easily accounting for the Criterion Gunners and the Cootamundra Ex-Services Magpies defeating the Bowling Club Tigers.

Stockinbingal travelled Gus Smith number one and bowled out the Gunners for just 89, cruising to victory in the 21st over with 3/91.

Stockinbingal captain Sam Larsen ripped through the Gunners' batting line-up, capturing 5/23 from 7.4 overs, while Jack Caldwell snared 3/10.

The village side had Allister Sides top score with 30 while Jack Caldwell and Sam Bush made 22.

The Magpies opened their account for the season with an easy win over the Bowling Club Tigers at The Oval.

The Tigers were bowled out for just 44 runs.

Bowling honours were shared for the Magpies' Ryan Breese 3/2, Lachlan Webb 3/3 and Blake Sloan 3/11.

The Magpies only required nine overs for victory and finished 1/46 with captain Luke Ismay top scoring on 25 not out.
