The match, played at Albert Park on Sunday, saw Goulburn win the toss and bat and were on their knees at 6/29 and 7/54 but recovered to score 144. Cootamundra responded with 97.
Goulburn's late order revival came from its captain Dane Stevenson. The skipper was part of a ninth-wicket partnership of 35 with Nathan Stewart. Stevenson top scored with 32.
When Cootamundra looked like wrapping up the innings, Stewart and Andrew Tivey added 42 valuable runs for the last wicket. Tivey made 23, while Stewart remained 29 not out.
Cootamundra quick David Garness bowled his heart out capturing 4/17 from his 10 overs. After having five runs come from his first over, he captured 4/12 in his remaining nine overs. Dean Bradley also bowled well - 3/33.
Set a moderate score of 145 for victory, the Cootamundra openers Ryan Connell and Aaron Cronin worked hard for their runs. Their partnership of 26 was the highest of the innings. Cronin made 10 and Connell 12.
Three other batsmen made double figures, but no one could make a decent score. Nic Holt top-scored with 13.
Former Cootamundra first X1 cricketer Tom McGregor was the star with the ball for visitors. The tall quick captured 4/32 from seven overs.
SOUTH WEST SLOPES CRICKET LEAGUE
The Come Alive Fitness Crusaders remain unbeaten in the Delta Agribusiness competition following a three-wicket win over the Australian Hotel Coyotes at Cranfield Oval.
The Coyotes, batting first, made 148 with Jason Hall top-scoring with 31, while Mick Aston made 26.
The star in the run chase for the Crusaders was Matt Berkrey. The gifted left-hander finished 83 not out guiding the Crusaders to victory in the 35th over.
At Nixon Park, Mimosa flexed its muscles against the Central Hotel Rams.
The home side smashed their way to 7/228 with Zac Starr scoring 102 from 71 balls. His knock included 14 fours and four sixes.
Jarrod Keelan making a welcome return to the competition returned the best figures of the round with 5/49.
The Rams replied with 122. Jason Cronin top-scoring with 30.
Both Cootamundra teams were beaten in the BFB/Blooms Chemist competition.
At the Ova, Stockinbingal were bowled out for just 95 against the Temora Renegades. The Renegades peeled off the runs in the 20th over to finish with 3/96.
The Cootamundra Ex-Services Magpies were easily beaten by Burrangong. The Magpies were bowled out in the 23rd over for 87.
The defending premiers in this competition raced to victory in the 18th over to finish with 4/90.
