Cootamundra Swimming Lifesaving Club travelled to Junee Aquatic Centre on December 1, the first day of summer for 2019, with 45 Swimmers.

Though the weather was up and down all swimmers performed well again in the swimming pool for the second South West Zone Swim Meet within the Southern Inland Region.
The club had swimmers participating from six years of age through to 42 years old.
This week the Cootamundra Swim Club fielded two medley relay teams in the 12 years and under 4 x 200m medley Rrlay, competing for the Simpson Medley Relay Shield.
This relay involved each member of the boys and girls team swimming one stroke each, being Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle.
The boys relay team took out second position consisting of Caleb Jones, Tom Peacey, Archie Blackman and Declan Brown.
The Cootamundra Girls Relay team made up of Evie Leahy (Backstroke), Grace Derrick (Breaststroke), Lucy Smirl (Butterfly) and Ellie Lake (Freestyle), won the race, taking out the 12 years and under Girls, Simpson Medley Relay Shield in a very close and exciting race.
Cootamundra Swim Club last won this shield in the 2002/2003 Season.
The club is very proud of all swimmers improving each week.
Special mention to Madeleine Brown, 14 years of age who achieved a qualification time of 32.06 seconds for 50m Butterfly.
This gives Madeleine the opportunity to now progress and swim at her first NSW Country Championship in February 2020 at Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre, Homebush.
In the year of 2019, Cootamundra Swim Club has had two young ladies qualify for NSW Country Championship being Lucy Smirl and Madeleine Brown.
