VALE BARBARA
Many locals were saddened to hear of the passing of former Cootamundra lady Barbara (Wren) Crofton.
Barbara was born in Cootamundra and in 1967 married Gavin Crofton here in the Sacred Heart Church. Gavin, a Sydney man, came to Coota in 1965 to coach rugby league.
After their marriage they moved back to Sydney, making their home in Sylvania.
Left to mourn Barbara's passing are their children Justine, Shannon, his wife Treesha and two grandchildren.
Gavin's address is 152 Port Hacking Road, Sylvania, 2224.
PARTY TIME
The CADAS Kids let their hair down at their annual Christmas party that was held last weekend.
There were many in attendance both old and new, there to mark a year of busy events and a most successful play that took place in July in the Cootamundra Town Hall.
A number of the CADAS kids spoke during the formal part of the evening.
They included Jordan Beath, Grace Neale, Braydon Smith, Ellie Lonnen, Rebecca Cook and Elli Aranda - thanking the many people and local businesses for their support over the past 45 years.
Several kids will be leaving town to further their studies and they were given a rousing farewell.
A sincere thank you was afforded the Thursday night supervisors Todd, Damo, Maggie, Jess, Kaylene and, of course, JR.
As is said - once a CADAS kid, always a CADAS kid. Don't forget to head to E'Claires Coffee Shop tomorrow morning to enjoy the singing performance of former CADAS kid, Sarah Whitteren.

FANTASTIC PARTY
A party held last weekend to mark the 60th birthday of Glen McAtear went off with a bang.
From the sensational music by the new owner of 92 Warralong Road, John Fleming, the catering from Di Williams wood-fired pizzas, the 70 guests in attendance were happy to be playing a part.
Glen, who over the years has played a major part in supporting many local groups and organisations, had friends and family travel from far and wide to join in the rendition of happy birthday.

STAY TUNED
I do look forward to my return in Friday, January 10 edition of the Cootamundra Herald.
Then, I will make mention of a former local boy done well in London, and two splendid wedding photos/reports which I have not had space to fit in today's edition.
Keep the stories/photos rolling in during 2020!
And in finishing the Around Cootamundra page for the year, I say:
May the blessings of Christmas be with you all today and throughout the year ahead.
And may you have good health, safe travel, peace and plans/dreams fulfilled in 2020.
