Following the successful Blues for the Firies on February 15 at the Arts Centre Cootamundra (TACC), there will be another fundraiser this weekend, at the Ex-Servicemen's Club.
The new event will be a bigger and brighter "Concert for the Firies" at the auditorium upstairs at the Ex-Servicemen's club this Saturday night, February 22, from 7pm till late.
A great night's entertainment is assured with the Blues for the Firies band in solid rehearsal to extend their song list to include not only blues but some good old Rock classics.
Look forward to hearing some classics like Flame Tree, Lover Lover, Cocaine and other old-time favourites
Also appearing will be Hans singing some great country classics and Cootamundra favourite Cathy Ashcroft and Ollie Choznacki with some great soulful numbers to soothe the heart and soul.
There will also be a number of students from Cootamundra High under the expert tutelage of teacher and musician Clint Perry.
These Coota young men and women are keen to support the local firies and have a chance to perform in public.
All the money raised from this event and the $1830 from the blues night will be distributed to our local Firies through their network.
This will be coordinated by the local administration under the supervision and expertise of local Rural Fire Service chief Jeff White.
Auction items are raising great interest and will be a highlight of the night.
Some great items up for grabs including the "fire Dragon", Murray Izzard's hand made didgeridoo painted by Peter Beath, One hour joyflight, A night with Blacky's music and two entertainment packages at the rugby in their new grandstand.
