Cootamundra Garden Club held its AGM and first meeting for 2020 last Sunday.
Office bearers elected at the AGM were: president Betti Punnett, secretary Marj Smith and treasurer Kate White.
A big thank you to these ladies who carried out the same role in 2019.
The welcome rains over the past weeks have meant an excellent start to the year for all gardeners.
Once again our town is looking green and the 'showy' crepe myrtles are adding a splash of colour to our streets.
After much discussion it was decided that members concentrate their efforts on one flower show only this year. This will be the Annual Autumn Flower Show to be held in early May.
We were all pleasantly surprised when secretary Marj informed us that our club will celebrate its 60th anniversary this year in November, the inaugural meeting having been held 15 November 1960.
Members are more than happy to work towards making this milestone a memorable occasion.
Floral art ladies continue to meet regularly and attend demonstrations in order to hone their skills. They work their magic with flora to create amazing works of art.
Flower of the month was won by Fay McPherson with a perfect red rose.
