Stockinbingal favourites Robyn Armstrong and Mel Cooke will be at the Coota Country Club oval at 11.45 Saturday morning for a 15-minute send-off to West Wyalong.
The pair will leave the Riverina Redneck Rally's starting point at West Wyalong on Sunday morning, joining 89 other cars in a six-day drive to Nelson Bay to raise funds for Country Hope.
Country Hope supports families with children who are diagnosed with cancer and other life threatening illnesses and offers a regional service that ensures that our local diagnosed children and their families are able to benefit from ongoing practical, financial and emotional support, and have the opportunity to build very special friendships and bonds with other local children, families, carers and medical staff.
Robyn and Mel are confident their $500 Holden "Shitbox" will make the 650km journey, especially since its recent respray from its former white to fluoro pink, blue green and orange.
They've raised $3000 in sponsorship, which will go into the more than $400,000 raised by the rally so far.
The fund-raising events they've put on have included a battery drive, a wool drive (collecting wool 'butts' or tips left over from shearing) and a barefoot bowls event at the Stockinbingal Bowling Club.

Country Hope believes that all children diagnosed with cancer or life threatening illness deserve to have access to the benefits received through its special programs.
Through providing these programs it aims to improve the quality of life of children diagnosed with cancer or life threatening illnesses in Southern NSW and North Eastern Victoria; by providing specialised support and programs that cater for the specific needs of our country children and their families.
