If you wondered why there was a crane outside the Ex-Servicemen's Club on Saturday, it was lifting audio gear in preparation for Saturday night's Concert for the Firies.
The Club's lift broke down on Tuesday and couldn't be fixed in time for the concert, and with literally tonnes of audio gear to be taken up Spinifex Welding's Mark Campbell came to the rescue with a crane to haul the gear to the top floor, possibly saving some heart attacks in the process.
Organisers were thrilled that the evening, together with the previous TACC concert, raised $7,620.
