The additional nine cases have come following the diagnosis of COVID-19 in a 41-year-old male from the Border region who recently returned home from an overseas holiday.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District made this latest announcement on Wednesday morning and did not provide further details of locations of the latest nine people with coronavirus.
The MLHD has appealed to members of the public to practice good hand hygiene and social distancing.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced tough regulations on non-essential gatherings both in public areas and people's private homes.
