Residents in Young may have seen a number of teddy bears and rainbows popping up across town and we're calling on Cootamundra kids to get in on the action.
The latest movement to lift spirits amid the COVID-19 pandemic is a 'bear hunt', seeing people place toy bears in their window sills for people to spot on their walks around the neighbourhood.
Young's Milvale Road Child Care are participating and educator Kris Behler says it's a fantastic idea.
"A friend of mine told me about it and I saw some pictures of windows around town with teddy bears. I found also saw that other educators across the Country Childrens Early Learning were doing it. It's a way to say hi, we're still here. We might be in isolation or distancing ourselves but we can keep our spirits up," Kris Behler said.
"It's a fabulous idea. It's global I think. There's also a rainbow movement which we've joined on in. It's a similar idea."
A Facebook post shared on a Young community page gathered huge interest resulting in a number of people declaring that they would join the movement.
One resident from Cootamundra said the movement had taken off there.
"Great fun in Cootamundra at the moment with this. We beep when we see a bear to let them know. My elderly mum eagerly listens for beeps. Keeping a smile on her and the kids faces," the resident said.
