A new pre-school being built on the same site as the Creekside Kids early learning centre will add to Cootamundra's early education landscape, providing another option for parents of three and four year olds.
Creekside Kids owner Jessica Roberts said she expects construction of the brand new building to be completed over the coming months and the pre school to open in time for Term One 2021.
"We wanted to provide an extra service to that of the government pre-school in Cootamundra," Mrs Roberts said.
With spaces limited at the government pre-school, Mrs Roberts said adding a pre school to the current long daycare service provided by Creekside Kids was a natural progression.
It also allows those toddlers who attended Creekside Kids before turning three years old to continue their early education at a premises, and with teachers, familiar to them.
Creekside Kids has adopted an inquiry-based learning philosophy within their early learning centre, which will transfer into their pre-school curriculum, however they follow the same learning program as all pre-schools giving young people an equal footing once they commence kindergarten.
Creekside Kids pre-school will also provide families with the option of adding long daycare hours either side of regular pre-school hours, which will be 8.30am until 4pm.
The pre-school will be staffed by Cootamundra local Heather Gammon, who comes with wealth of experience in the early childhood education sphere.
Mrs Roberts is passionate about the importance of early education when it comes to providing a strong foundation for little people to leap from into their later years.
She encouraged parents of young toddlers to look at all of their options before selecting a pre-school for their child and invited anyone wishing to know more about Creekside Kids to get in touch.
They will accept new children into the pre-school as well as those currently in Creekside Kids early learning centre who will be old enough for pre-school next year.
An orientation process is offered for all new families allowing them to 'try before they buy' and spend time at Creekside Kids, located on two acres in Poole Street, to see if it fits their child and their family.
