The proposal, which would see all four first grade games played at the same, was brought before the clubs at a meeting on Monday night.
Chairman Andrew Hinchcliffe is looking to explore new approaches to ensure Group Nine continues to grow.
"Clubs seem pretty on board for considering some new options to try to increase participation and looking at future growth," Hinchcliffe said.
The idea is to have one, and potentially two, rounds at the same venue to create a bumper day of rugby league similar to the NRL round held in Brisbane last month.
Hinchcliffe said clubs were fairly supportive of the idea.
"It was a bit of a mixed reaction but once we explained the concept most clubs were thinking it could be feasible," he said.
A more concrete proposal will be delivered by the board with the clubs to have the final say.
After a season shortened by COVID last year, Group Nine have seen a slight reduction in player numbers from last year.
They are down two first grades with Cootamundra unbeaten after making the move to the George Tooke Shield this season while Junee made a late call not to field a first grade side.
"We're still in a reasonably healthy position although change is required," Hinchcliffe said.
"Participation is on a slight decrease in certain areas but our numbers are up from 2019 in the 16s and 18s, which is really positive, and all the junior data is looking really positive.
"There has been a real growth this year in junior numbers but we think there is opportunity in the next couple of years to implement some new and exciting concepts to hopefully increase that participation, enjoyment and community alignment."
Another concept Hinchcliffe believes has the real potential to grow the sport is through broadening the involvement of all abilities teams.
"We've already had some activity in that space with Wagga Brothers leading the charge their with the Leprechauns and it's a great community event," he said.
"It is great to see the smiles on the faces of those kids, people getting behind it and we think there is an opportunity to increase the love of rugby league in that area."
