It was a must win match for the Blues in their quest for a semi final spot with the sides going into the game level on wins but separated by less than six percentage points.
Prior to the first ball up both side's observed a minute's silence for the late Betty Delaney.

The members and friends of the Cootamundra Australian Football Club are saddened to hear of the recent passing of Betty Delaney at the age of 90.
Betty was heavily involved in the ladies auxiliary in the 1970's and 1980's while her three sons Peter, Paul and Brian played for the Blues.
Betty's eldest son Peter was a club legend, playing 230 matches for the Blues.
Peter coached the club in 1984-85.
He won the Blues best and fairest in 1982 and 1986.
Peter was a member of the Blues first grade premiership teams of 1974 and 1977.
Paul played 139 matches for the Blues.
His career was highlighted by being a member of the Blues first grade premiership teams of 1980 and 1989.
Brian was a tough as nails footballer and enjoyed playing a number of matches with Peter and Paul.
The Blues wish to pass on their condolences to the Delaney family.
As a mark of respect in Saturday's final home match of the season against Ainslie, a minute silence will be observed before the match and the players will wear black armbands.
