As of Sunday, 72.1 per cent of Riverina residents over 15 have had at least one dose of the COVID vaccine.
Dr Ayman Shenouda, who operates a vaccination hub out of Glenrock Country Practice, said he was "really pleased" with the figure.
The Riverina is ranked 23 out of 28 geographic regions across the state in terms of one-doses - the same position it was in last week.
In terms of the fully vaccinated, 44.7 per cent of the Riverina's over-15 population has been double-dosed. The Riverina ranks 15 out of the 28 geographic regions, down one place from last week.
Dr Shenouda said that the one-dose rate is a "very good indication" the region will reach at least 70 per cent fully vaccinated, because most people who have one jab come forward for their second.
Dr Shenouda said his vaccination clinic is booked out, with an additional room opened to increase capacity - particularly with children aged 12 to 16 now eligible for Pfizer.
"Today I had quite a few children in that age group come with their parents to get vaccinated," he said.
Dr Shenouda is currently awaiting confirmation from the federal government as to when doses of the Moderna vaccine will hit Wagga.
Deputy Premier John Barilaro said on Tuesday that getting vaccination rates up "isn't just about opening up next October, it's about never going into lockdown again."
"There's going to be areas [where] there are people that just don't want to get vaccinated and I have to accept that as a reality," he said.
"It's unfair because they'll get the benefits when the rest of the state opens because everyone else has done the heavy lifting; they'll be dragging the state average down to a degree, but they'll get the benefits of it."
