There is no longer a severe weather warning for the Cootamundra region, damaging winds are still expected to the West near Hay and in the north near Orange.

5pm
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds and heavy rainfall for the South West Slopes, Riverina and other parts of NSW.
3pm
More than the average rainfall for the month of September fell on Wednesday and Thursday alone.
1pm
The SES has posted a few aerial pictures on its Facebook page to show the extent of flooding around Coolac and Cootamundra.
10am
As waters recede, the damage from the flooding can be assessed.
8am
Two car crashes reported as a result of the rain, one on Dirnaseer Road and the other near Wallendbeen.
7pm
The Parker Street bridge has been re-opened by police, as rain over Cootamundra eases off.
6pm
The Cootamundra Turf Club has posted a video on Facebook showing the extent of flooding on the racetrack.
5.30pm
The Parker Street bridge over Muttama Creek has been closed by police as water levels reach the base of the bridge.
The only bridge over Muttama Creek that remains open is Sutton Street.
All traffic has been diverted via Sutton Street creating minor traffic delays.
5pm
The SES has issued a flood warning for Cootamundra and Stockinbingal.
Up to 40mm of rain has fallen in the catchment upstream of Cootamundra creating a risk of flash flooding in low lying rural areas, roads and causeways.
According to the SES it is not currently possible to predict a flood peak due to uncertainty over how much more rain will fall.

Residents have been evacuated from homes in Olney street as rising water levels in Muttama Creek threaten properties.
1pm
Consistent rain all day is wreaking havoc on regional roads with a a number of roads and causeways underwater.
Gundagai Road and Muttama Road have both been closed by Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council as have all causeways in Cootamundra.
Muttama Creek above Cootamundra is higher then some people have seen it this year.
The RMS is advising caution on the Burley Griffin Way between Temora and Springdale.
A number of roads have been closed in the Hilltops Shire also.
Rain is falling on already saturated ground causing runoff which is having the effect of making creeks and waterways rise rapidly.
