James Pittar, an Australian visually impaired swimmer who has conquered marathon swims around the world, will be visiting Gundagai, while Cootamundra will be visited by Stepan Kerkyasharian.
Dr Kerkyasharian, a respected multicultural community leader, is a former long-serving president of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Board.
Gundagai’s celebrations will begin at 8am with a barbecue breakfast in Carberry Park.
In Cootamundra, the Australia Day fun will be off to a similarly early start, with a barbecue breakfast in Jubilee Park from 8am.
The citizen of the year award winners for both Cootamundra and Gundagai will allow be announced, along with junior citizens and sportspeople of the year.
