Issues with bending down to deliver a lawn bowl are no longer a problem, so bowlers can comfortably continue to play the game that they love, along with the social aspects of the game.
Typically they are used where a person has hip/knee complaints which restrict their ability to bend down to deliver the bowl correctly.
Last Friday at the Country Club, four exponents of the bowling arm were matched up against each other.
Averaging 87 years of age, the competition was intense, with much banter being heard around the green.
On this occasion, the young Ron Johnson combined with the much older and wiser Arthur Ward to successfully fend off the up and coming middle-aged team of Eddie Jarrott and Kevin Breasley.
With a combined age of 348 years, the foursome pictured are proving that the preferred option for life is the bowling green and not the lounge chair.
